AIM Youth Mental Health is building a movement devoted to the mental health of children, teens, and young adults by funding clinical research to find better treatments and cures, raising awareness, and improving access to effective treatments. They are working to develop models for training clinicians to implement evidence-based treatments in real-world settings where children receive care. AIM touches lives in a very personal way, and gives hope to children and families facing the struggles that mental health challenges bring.
The Diversity Center of Santa Cruz County is the only fully staffed LGBTQ+ community center on California’s Central Coast. The Diversity Center is building an equitable community where LGBTQ+ people thrive. Their vision is a healthy, vibrant, and diverse LGBTQ+ community in Santa Cruz County that is free from fear, hatred, and prejudice. The Diversity Center strives to keep people safe at their work, in their homes and in their everyday lives.
Second Harvest Food Bank Santa Cruz County’s mission is to end hunger through healthy food, education and leadership. Only with adequate food and nutrition can children learn, adults work, and our community thrive. Hunger is not inevitable. Second Harvest Food Bank Santa Cruz County is working hard to feed people who need food now and to advocate for policies that tackle the root causes of hunger.
Inspiring the lives of Salinas youth, one note at a time! The Youth Orchestra of Salinas (YOSAL) strives to transform the lives of our youth and communities through the inspiration, discipline and performance of classical and orchestral music. Founded in the Summer of 2010, YOSAL is an El Sistema-inspired orchestral and choral education program.
Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Support Services exists to improve the quality of life for children with cancer and support their families in the challenges they face. They provide family-centered care that addresses the emotional, practical and financial struggles for families of children and teens during treatment, families experiencing anticipatory grief and those who are bereaved. Jacob’s Heart envisions a community where every child with a serious or life-threatening condition has a strong, supported and informed family empowered to fully participate in their care.
Little League Baseball assists children in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being. By espousing the virtues of character, courage, and loyalty, the Little League Baseball program is designed to develop superior citizens rather than superior athletes.
