About Millennium Tower
Millennium Tower of San Francisco is a Four Seasons residential development. As the first Millennium Partners project in San Francisco to bear the company's name, it serves as a showcase for extraordinary standards of design, guest services and amenities. Not only is it visually striking for its graceful elegance and distinctive blue glass curtain wall, but it is the tallest luxury residential property in the San Francisco skyline, not to mention the tallest residential building west of the Mississippi. Millennium Tower is a unique property that builds on Millennium Partners' reputation of creating premiere luxury living residences throughout the country.Challenges
Millennium Partner's legacy for creating premiere luxury living residencies throughout the world necessitated a feature-rich hospitality phone system to meet the expectations of its residents. The project required a reputable and knowledgeable vendor who could deliver excellent service and work within a rigid time line for completion.
The residential units each had specialized requirements to be able to be connected to their concierge service at every moment of every day. Also, elevators with limited access to the 419 residencies and infrastructure obstacles with cabling were just a couple of the other challenges. The Millennium Tower would need a solution as intricate as the Tower itself.
After a stringent evaluation process, the Millennium Partners chose The Maynard Group. The NEC Univerge SV8300 was identified as the perfect solution for what the Millennium Tower needed. The Univerge SV8300 is a scalable, full IP, enterprise communication solution and enhanced hospitality feature set. This system allowed the Millennium Tower to function effectively and efficiently with seamless communications to enable rapid decision making and responsiveness to residents. As NEC has stated, "Five star services requires five star solutions."
With the enhanced Hospitality Package, the SV8300 was able to meet the needs of Millennium Tower by utilizing NEC's robust call control, providing staff with mobility to allow them to give their residents superior support. The solution also included installation of emergency call boxes for each of the garage parking levels and the Club Level sundeck which ensured immediate contact with the Grand Concierge. Being one of the leaders in hospitality solutions, NEC also provides precision call accounting records making it possible for Millennium staff to track phone charges for the different departments in the building.
Overcoming all the challenges that arose is what really made this project such a unique success story. Working with new contractors took great coordination and communication to make everything come together. As with any large project there are always adjustments and changes that need to be made on the fly, this project was no different. Thanks to the Maynard Group's persistence and intuitiveness, the changes that occurred were met with realistic solutions. One of the obstacles was moving the Millennium Sales Department from a different office building into the Tower. This called for The Maynard Group to coordinate with AT&T and Millennium Partners IT staff to keep their existing published lines by porting them to SV8300 via IP Flex. Even with the various obstacles faced, the project stuck to its rigorous timeline and stayed on track allowing for the project to be finished on time.
Thanks to the right NEC solution chosen by The Maynard Group, the Millennium Tower of San Francisco will be able to provide the most dependable and responsive customer service a resident could ask for. Not only that, but residents now have the ability to contact their personal concierge by the touch of a button.
Now that the Millennium Tower is able to operate in pure luxury, The Maynard Group refers to this project as, "A Raving Success!"
